Miley Cyrus- We Can’t Stop Video- Uncomfortably Awesome

The much anticipated video of Miley Cyrus’s ” We Can’t Stop” has officially dropped as of 11 hours ago, and all I can think of is WOW.

WOW for two reasons. 1. Weird. 2. Fantastic

1. Weird.

I am a fan of Miley Cyrus because she stays true to who she is.  She has never pretended she was “innocent” in order to keep her young fans from the wildly popular “Hannah Montana.”  But because I do remember her as a child star this video is a tad uncomfortable.  She takes her new found love “twerking” to a whole new level.  She dances and moves very provocatively and there are many weird visuals like a girl cutting off her fingers, a man eating a money sandwich,  and awkward sexual gestures. However, as uncomfortable as it was, throughout the entire video i was also thinking, “perfection.”

2. Fantastic.

I truly believe that this video is absolutely perfect for this song.  “We Can’t Stop” is a whole new sound for Miley, therefore, the video needed to be completely different than anything she has done before.  The video was incredibly weird, but in a good way.  She shows that she is growing up, but without overdoing it.  She doesn’t show too much skin, she isn’t “grinding” on guys, but she definitely establishes her maturity.  I believe this video will increase the popularity of her single, and possibly even get it placed into the Billboard Hot 100. Only time will tell.

Voice Results Finale

AHH! So I’m in Florida at my grandmas house and she doesn’t know her wifi password so I CANNOT get connected to her wifi. But I still wanted to write. So i am writing this on my phone (apologies for any gramarical errors) As predicted, my GIRL Danielle Bradbery was announced as the winner of The Voice Season Four. Also as predicted, The Swon Brothers slid in at third place and Michelle Chamuel was obviously I’m second.

The entire episode was a blast. There were some incredible performances from Bruno Mars, Florida Georgia Line with Nelly, One Republic, Hunter Hayes, Cher and Bob Seger.

However I am so incredible proud of Danielle. Many people across the country questioned her emotion and if she TRULY wanted to win and right when her name was called, all of the non believers had to shut their mouths. She was completely surprised and when asked to sing her finale song, “Born To Fly” she couldn’t even sing the lyrics.

I do believe Danielle deserved to win however this was the closest The Voice finale has EVER been. All three artist will have tremendous careers and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.

PS SPURS PLEASE BEAT THE HEAT!!!!

Thoughts On The Voice Live Finale June 17th

seasonfour

I just finished watching The Voice’s season finale (thank god for DVR) and all I can say is YES.

I have been a huge fan of Danielle Bradbery and Michelle Chamuel from day one.  Their stories and voices compelled me and made me want to watch them week after week (and even vote a few times).  The Swon Brothers were late bloomers for me but I eventually became a fan.  I do believe The Swon Brothers are without a doubt the most improved of this incredible season.

Each artist sang three separate songs (with an extra one which was a tribute to their coaches).  They each sang their finale song, their defining moment of the season, and a duet with their coach.

My favorite performances from each artist:

The Swon Brothers duet with Blake Shelton.  It really showed their funny side while still showcasing their incredible voices.

Michelle Chamuel: Why.  The production and special effects of this performance were something we have never seen before on the show (I would post the link but it is still too early and it is not on YouTube…AHH!)

Danielle Bradbery: Maybe It Was Memphis. For me, this was absolutely her defining moment. When I first heard it I couldn’t get enough; I even downloaded it and put it on my iPhone!  This song shows her vocal ability and proves she is definitely worth the hype.

I also have to give a shout-out to Shakira for being so supportive of the finalist although no one from her team was left standing.

After this finale, my prediction remains the same as for Danielle Bradbery to be this seasons victor.

Britney Spears- Ooh La La

I wasn’t going to make a post about Britney Spears’ new song until I heard it consecutively on two different local radio stations.

I have to say I am disappointed in this song and I REALLY hope it is not the lead single from her upcoming album.  It lacks originality and uniqueness.  However, it does have a few promising parts.

The verse right before the chorus when she sings,

“You know can nobody get down like us
We don’t fuck ’till we get enough
C’mon, turn it up ’till the speakers pop
Break it down, show me what you’ve got”

feels awesome.  It feels like it is building up to a huge drop of a cool house or pop beat (like in her previous records).  But then it slows back down and sounds like every other song out there.

I see success in this song (if it is the lead single) ONLY because it is Britney’s song, NOT because I think it deserves it.

Check it out for yourself!

Fifth Harmony- Miss Movin’ On

Fifth Harmony is a girl group who originated on the widely popular, The X Factor. They have debuted their first single, Miss Movin’ On and I am pleasantly surprised.  The song is definitely a pop song, however it feels incredibly fresh. The vocals are on point the melody is very enjoyable.  I do not know yet if the song will become a hit, but I definitely believe it will give Fifth Harmony the platform to succeed in future projects.

I definitely think Fifth Harmony is here to stay. Check out their new single Miss Movin’ On

The Voice Season 4 Finale Predictions

The Voice

In honor of NBC’s The Voice finale being tonight, I thought that I would write a prediction.

I tweeted last week that my thoughts on who would make it to the finale would be Danielle Bradbery, Michelle Chamuel and The Swon Brothers.  Just like I predicted, those were the top three.  However, the real battle this whole season has been fought between Danielle and Michelle.  They both bring different qualities to this season.  Danielle is the youngest in the competition and completely lovable, and Michelle is that nerdy girl that didn’t quite fit in and America fell in love with her.  As far as vocal ability, Danielle takes it.  The quality in her voice is upstanding, and for her age it is unprecedented.  Michelle does have an incredible voice as well, but I do not believe it matches Danielle’s.  I do believe the Swon Brothers will place third on the finale results show tomorrow night, however they have made a mark in the competition and with America.  They are the only duo to make it to a finale on any of The Voice seasons and their last two songs BOTH made it into the top ten of the iTunes singles chart.

But at the end of the day, there must only be one winner, and that winner to me is…..drum roll please…..DANIELLE BRADBERY!  Ever since Danielle stepped onto the stage for the blind auditions to sing her rendition of Taylor Swift’s, “Mean” I knew she was destined for greatness.  Week after week her singles excel on iTunes and she never receives negative criticism from the coaches.
